Seit vielen Jahren wird in der Öffentlichkeit sowie innerhalb der Politikwissenschaft über die „Krise der Demokratie“, über „Postdemokratie“ oder die „Simulation der Demokratie“ gesprochen und diskutiert. In den Fokus gerät dabei oft auch eine (mögliche) Krise der demokratischen Repräsentation.
