Vorankündigung: „A Promised Land“ von Barack Obama
Dreieinhalb Jahre hat er an diesem Buch gearbeitet: am 17. November 2020, zwei Wochen nach der diesjährigen Präsidentschaftswahl, erscheint mit „A Promised Land“ der erste Band der Memoiren Barack Obamas: Kindheit, Jugend, Ausbildung und Karriere, erste politische Ämter, schließlich die erfolgreiche Präsidentschaftskandidatur im Jahre 2008 und seine erste Amtszeit im Weißen Haus bis zur Tötung Osama Bin Ladens stehen im Mittelpunkt dieses Bandes. Teil zwei wird dann in einigen Jahren erscheinen. 65 Millionen Dollar hat der Penuin-Verlag für diese beiden Bücher sowie die Autobiografie seiner Frau Michelle überwiesen. Letztere verkaufte von ihrem Buch mehr als acht Millionen Exemplare. Da auch die bisherigen Bücher Barack Obamas Bestseller waren, steht zu erwarten, dass er mit dem angekündigten Band nicht minder erfolgreich sein wird.
