TV-Tipp: „Trump, meine amerikanische Familie und ich“
An Reportagen und Dokumentation rund um die bevorstehenden amerikanischen Präsidentschaftswahlen herrscht derzeit wahrlich kein Mangel, man denke nur an „Im Wahn“ von Klaus Brinkbäumer und Stephan Lamby oder „American Voices“ von Elmar Theveßen. Der Journalist und Moderator Ingo Zamperoni („Tagesthemen“) geht das Thema etwas anders an. Er nähert sich Donald Trump und den polarisierten Staaten von Amerika über seine Familie. Zamperoni, von Haus aus Amerikanist und Geschichtswissenschaftler, hat selbst mehrere Jahre in den Vereinigten Staaten verbracht, zunächst als Austauschschüler und später als Korrespondent. Verheiratet ist er mit einer Amerikanerin, und in einer Dokumentation, die am 2. November 2020 ausgestrahlt wird, begibt er sich auf Spurensuche im eigenen Familienkreis, spricht mit Trump- Wählern und Unterstützern, geht ihren Motiven nach und entwirft ein buntes Panoptikum der USA wenige Tage vor der Wahl.
