Neues APuZ-Heft zum Thema „Zustand der Demokratie“ erschienen
Am morgigen Montag erscheint die neue Ausgabe der von der Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung (BpB) herausgegebenen Zeitschrift „Aus Politik und Zeitgeschichte (APuZ)“. Schwerpunkt des Heftes ist der „Zustand der Demokratie“. Im politikwissenschaftlichen Diskurs ist seit vielen Jahren von einer „Krise der Demokratie“ (zum Beispiel Wolfgang Merkel oder Adam Przeworski), von „Postdemokratie“ (Colin Crouch; vgl. auch hier) oder von einem „Postparlamentarismus“ (etwa Julia von Blumenthal) die Rede. An diese Diskussionen knüpft die vorliegende APuZ-Ausgabe an. Wolfgang Merkel befasst sich in einem Essay mit der zunehmenden Verwissenschaftlichung und Moralisierung politischer Diskurse in entwickelten Demokratien, Jan-Werner Müller geht in seinem Essay der Frage nach, ob die Identitätspolitik die liberale Demokratie gefährdet. Mit den Veränderungen der Struktur der Öffentlichkeit durch die Digitalisierung befasst sich Claudia Ritzi, während Vanessa A. Boese sich unter der Überschrift „Demokratie in Gefahr?“ unter Rückgriff auf Ergebnisse des „Varieties of Democracy“-Projekts mit der weltweit zu beobachtenden Autokratisierungswelle auseinandersetzt. Weitere Beiträge thematisieren die aktuelle Rolle der „Repräsentation zwischen Demokratisierung und Entdemokratisierung“ (Philip Manow), die „Krise (und Ende?) der Volksparteien“ (Eckhard Jesse) und die Erfolgschancen von Bürgerräten (Lukas Kübler, Claus Leggewie und Patrizia Nanz).
