Neues APuZ-Heft: „9/11“
Die Terroranschläge auf das New Yorker World Trade Center sowie das Pentagon in Washington DC jähren sich im kommenden September bereits zum 20. Mal (und ich weiß noch genau, wo ich am frühen Nachmittag des besagten 11. Septembers 2001 war…). Heute ist zu genau diesem Thema die neue Ausgabe der politikwissenschaftlichen Zeitschrift „Aus Politik und Zeitgeschichte“ erschienen. Einleitend präsentiert Carola Dietze Überlegungen zu zeitgenössischen Deutungen des 11. September 2011. Stefan Weidner beschäftigt sich darüber hinaus mit 9/11 und dem Ende „des Westens“. Hendrik Hegemann diskutiert Freiheit und Sicherheit in liberalen Demokratien nach 9/11, während Rolf Tophoven den islamistischen Terror nach 9/11 aufgreift. Max Bergmann und James Lamond werfen einen Blick auf die Zukunft der US-amerikanischen Außenpolitik („Das Ende der 9/11-Ära“), und zwei Beiträge thematisieren schließlich die Beziehungen zwischen den USA und dem Iran sowie „Afghanistan 2001 bis 2021“. Das Heft kann hier elektronisch im Volltext abgerufen werden.
