Lektüre von Daniel Mullis: Politische Apathie im Wohnzimmer
In der gestrigen Ausgabe der Süddeutschen Zeitung findet sich – rechtzeitig zu unserer Themenwoche am Institut für Politikwissenschaft Anfang Juni zum Thema Wehrhafte Demokratie – eine Rezension des Buches „Der Aufstieg der Rechten in Krisenzeiten“ von Daniel Mullis. Darin beleuchtet (und erklärt) der Autor, der als Humangeograph am Leibniz Institut für Friedens- und Konfliktforschung in Frankfurt/Main tätig ist, den Aufstieg der AfD in den vergangenen Jahren. Basierend auf knapp 50 repräsentativen Interviews mit Bürgerinnen und Bürgern kommt Multis zu der These, dass die politische Mitte in Deutschland sich progressiven Vorstellungen zunehmend verwehrt und sich dadurch rückentwickelt. Das politische Spektrum bleibe bei dieser Regression zwar erhalten, so Mullis, rücke aber insgesamt nach rechts. In diesem Kontext geht der Autor auch auf die verschiedenen politischen Krisen der vergangenen Jahre ein.
