TV-Tipp: „Bimbes – die schwarzen Kassen des Helmut Kohl“
Kurze Zeit nach der Bundestagswahl 1998, bei der die schwarz-gelbe Regierung unter Bundeskanzler Helmut Kohl eine Niederlage erlitt und aus dem Amt schied, um von einer rot-grünen Regierung unter Bundeskanzler Gerhard Schröder übernommen zu werden, erschütterte ein Parteispendenskandal die Republik. Hatte Helmut Kohl als Parteichef der CDU Spenden in Millionenhöhe von anonymen Spendern zur Finanzierung der Parteiarbeit vor Ort entgegen genommen? Selbst vor einem Parlamentarischen Untersuchungsausschuss blieb Kohl bei dieser Auffassung. Recherchen der ARD und des SPIEGELS zeigen jetzt: unter Umständen hat es diese anonymen Spender nie gegeben. Eine ausführliche Dokumentation beleuchtet heute abend die Hintergründe des Skandals.
