Neuerscheinung zum Land Sachsen-Anhalt: das „wieder entstandene“ Bundesland
Vielen Auswärtigen ist Sachsen-Anhalt als das „Land der Frühaufsteher“ bekannt. Dieses etwa an den Autobahnen des Landes postulierte Motto ist seit einigen Jahren vom Hashtag #moderndenken abgelöst worden. Gleichwohl ist es vielen Besuchern noch geläufig. Dabei hat das Land viel zu bieten, etwa mehrere Weltkulturerbestätten und eine Reihe von Hochschulen. Auch politisch machte das Land immer wieder Schlagzeilen, etwa in koalitionspolitischer Hinsicht mit der Minderheitsregierung unter Ministerpräsident Reinhard Höppner (1994-2002) oder der ersten Kenia-Koalition der Bundesrepublik unter Ministerpräsident Reiner Haseloff (2016-2021). Vor der Wiedergründung des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt am 3. Oktoiber 1990 hatte dieses Bundesland lediglich von 1946 bis 1952 bestanden, was dazu führte, dass es im Jahre 1990 nur auf eine schwach ausgeprägte Landestradition zurückblicken konnte. Rund um das nach der Wende „wieder entstandene“ Bundesland ist nun ein Sammelband erschienen, der zahlreiche Protagonistinnen und Protagonisten zu Wort kommen lässt, die jeweils ihre eigenen Eindrücke ihrer politischen Erfahrung in Sachsen-Anhalt schildern. Das Werk beruht auf den Beiträgen einer Ringvorlesung im Rahmen des Programms „Studieren ab 50“ an der Otto-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg im Wintersemester 2019/20. Zu den Autorinnen und Autoren zählen etwa Katrin Budde (MdL und MdB), Roland Claus (ebenfalls MdL und MdB), Karl-Heinz Daehre (Landesminister), Cornelia Pieper (gleichermaßen MdL und MdB), Rainer Robra (Chef der Staatskanzlei) und Wolfgang Böhmer (Ministerpräsident a. D.). Das Buch ist bei der Landeszentrale für politische Bildung in Magdeburg erhältlich.
