Seit einigen Tagen laufen in den USA die Vorwahlen des Präsidentschaftswahlkampfes 2012. Anfang November dieses Jahres wird sich entscheiden, ob Barack Obama Präsident bleibt oder das Weiße Haus für einen Republikanischen Amtsnachfolger räumen muss. Zu diesem Thema bietet die Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung im März eine Fachtagung an. Vom 8. bis 10. März 2012 diskutieren Experten wie Peter Lösche, Stephan Bierling und Christian Hacke die Wahlaussichten Obamas und bewerten die augenblickliche politische Lage in den Vereinigten Staaten.
