Lektüren: „Democracy’s Guardians“
Wer vor Weihnachten an der Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg dem Vortrag von Prof. Oliver Lepsius beigewohnt hat, wurde schon damals auf dieses Buch aufmerksam gemacht, heute wird es in der Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung (am Kiosk Ihres Vertrauens oder im Netz käuflich erwerbbar!) rezensiert: „Democracy’s Guardians“ von Justin Collings. In diesem Buch präsentiert Collings eine Geschichte des Bundesverfassungsgerichts – und zwar aus amerikanischer Perspektive. Kurzbeschreibung und Inhaltsverzeichnis des Buches gibt es hier. Mit 108 Euro ist das Werk selbst für ein Fachbuch recht teuer, aber es gibt gute Nachrichten: heute haben wir das Buch für unsere Bibliothek bestellt.:)

Surah Al-Waqi’ah, the 56th chapter of the Qur’an, is a Meccan surah consisting of 96 verses. Surah Al-Muzzammil, the 73rd chapter of the Qur’an, is a Meccan surah consisting of 20 verses. The title „Al-Muzzammil“ translates to „The Enshrouded One“ or „The One Wrapped in Garments,“ referring to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) who is addressed in the opening verse. This surah guides spiritual discipline, patience, and the importance of devotion in the face of challenges. night prayer and its profound guidance on balancing devotion with life’s demands. The practice of Tahajjud, as highlighted in the surah, is considered one of the most virtuous forms of worship. It is believed to bring believers closer to Allah, granting them spiritual insight and strength.
