Bundestagspräsident Norbert Lammert tritt 2017 nicht erneut zur Wiederwahl an
Ich gebe offen zu, dass ich ein großer Fan von Bundestagspräsident Norbert Lammert war und bin – um so bedauerlicher finde ich seine heute kommunizierte Entscheidung, zur nächsten Bundestagswahl nicht erneut antreten zu wollen. Nicht nur führte er die Bundestagsdebatten mit Witz und Ironie (man denke nur an seine Scharmützel mit Gregor Gysi, nachzuschauen hier und hier oder seine launige Eröffnungsrede des 17. Bundestages, und zwar hier; weitere Highlights hier), sondern stets pochte er auf die Bedeutung des Parlaments, gerade gegenüber der Regierung. „Nicht die Regierung hält sich ein Parlament, sondern das Parlament bestimmt und kontrolliert die Regierung“, lautet eine seiner oft wiederholten Mahnungen. Zuletzt stritt er beherzt – aber ohne Erfolg – für eine Wahlrechtsrefom, die eine mögliche Aufblähung des Bundestages auf bis zu mehr als 700 Abgeoirdnete verhindern sollte (vgl. hier und hier)
