Jubiläum: 70 Jahre Bundesverfassungsgericht
In diesen Tagen jährt sich die Gründung des Bundesverfassungsgerichts zum 70. Mal. Am 7. September 1951 nahm das Gericht in Karlsruhe mit 23 Richtern und einer Richterin seine Arbeit offiziell auf (damals noch im Prinz-Max-Palais; in das bis heute für das Gericht charakteristische Gebäudeensemble von Paul Baumgarten zog es erst im Frühjahr 1969). Pünktlich zum Geburtstag ist das Gericht nunmehr auch auf Instagram vertreten, auf dem Kurznachrichtenkanal Twitter ist es bereits seit längerem präsent. In unseren Lehrveranstaltungen steht das Gericht häufig im Fokus, nicht nur im Basismodul Regierungslehre im Rahmen einer Einführung in das politische System der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, sondern auch in Veranstaltungen des Aufbaumoduls sowie der Mastermodule – etwa bezüglich der Frage, ob es sich bei diesem Gericht um eine rechtliche Institution oder einen politischen Akteur handelt (und an welchen Kriterien könnte man eine solche Einschätzung festmachen?). Als ein- bzw. weiterführender Lektürehinweis sei auf das „Handbuch Bundesverfassungsgericht im politischen System“ von Robert van Ooyen (2015) hingewiesen, das in unserer Universitätsbibliothek in elektronischer Form verfügbar ist.
