TV-Tipp: „Verstörte Volkspartei“
Seit vielen Jahren wird in der Parteienforschung über das (mögliche) Ende der Volksparteien in Deutschland diskutiert. Dabei stand lange die SPD im Fokus des Interesses. Nach dem Verlust der Regierungsverantwortung infolge der Bundestagswahl vom 26. September 2021 muss sich aber vor allem die andere Volkspartei, die CDU, neu aufstellen. Personell haben die Mitglieder vor Weihnachten die ersten Weichen gestellt, indem sie Friedrich Merz mit deutlicher Mehrheit im ersten Wahlgang zum neuen Chef auserkoren (was ein Parteitag im Januar noch bestätigen muss). Nun steht die inhaltliche Erneuerung der Union an, in Kürze stehen zudem wichtige Landtagswahlen ins Haus, etwa in Schleswig-Holstein, im Saarland sowie in Nordrhein-Westfalen. Wie die Partei mit ihrer neuen Oppositionsrolle umgeht und vor welchen großen Herausforderungen sie steht, beleuchten die Journalisten und Filmemacher Bernd Benthin und Lars Seefeldt in einer neuen Dokumentation für das ZDF.
