Studie: Repräsentation von Frauen in der Kommunalpolitik
Nicht nur in Landtagen oder dem Bundestag sind Frauen gemäß ihres Bevölkerungsanteils deutlich unterrepräsentiert. Gleiches gilt für die Kommunalpolitik: demnach sind aktuell nur neun von 77 Oberbürgermeistern/innen Frauen (das entspricht einem Wert von 11,7 Prozent). In einer Studie der Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung für die FernUniversität Hagen ist zum insgesamt fünften Mal ein Ranking aller deutschen Großstädte verfasst worden. Die Stadt Offenbach am Main erreicht in diesem Ranking den ersten Platz, das Schlusslicht stellt die Stadt Salzgitter dar. Auf Ebene der Dezernenten/innen liegt der Frauenanteil erstmals über 30 Prozent. In den Stadträten der Großstädte kommen die weiblichen Mitglieder auf einen Anteil von 37 Prozent.
