Projektvorstellung: ArbeiterKind.de
Auch an der Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg ist das Projekt ArbeiterKind.de aktiv, welches sich zum Ziel gesetzt hat, den Anteil der Studierenden aus Arbeiterfamilien zu erhöhen. Nachfolgend sei in knappen Zügen (und in eigenen Worten der Verantwortlichen) auf die Arbeit dieses Projektes hingewiesen.
„Auch wenn das Bildungsniveau in Deutschland insgesamt gestiegen ist und es immer mehr akademisch Qualifizierte gibt, entscheidet in Deutschland noch immer die soziale Herkunft über den Bildungsweg. Von 100 Kindern aus Akademiker:innenfamilien beginnen statistisch gesehen 79 ein Hochschulstudium. Aus Nicht-Akademiker:innenfamilien nehmen 27 von 100 Kindern ein Studium auf. Die sind die Ergebnisse einer aktuellen Untersuchung des Deutschen Zentrums für Hochschul- und Wissenschaftsforschung (DZHW) zur Hochschulbeteiligung in Deutschland, die im Oktober 2021 veröffentlicht wurden. Aus diesem Anlass hat Katja Urbatsch die Initiative ArbeiterKind.de im Jahr 2008 gegründet.
Die Vision von ArbieterKind.de ist, dass in Deutschland jedes Kind aus einer
nichtakademischen Familie mit geeigneter Qualifikation die Chance auf eine Bildungsaufstieg hat. Deshalb ermutigt die gemeinnützige und spendenfinanzierte Organisation Schüler:innen, die ein Studium aufnehmen wollen, und unterstützt sie auf dem Weg zum Studienabschluss und erfolgreichen Berufseinstieg. ArbeiterKind.de beugt Bildungsungerechtigkeit vor, erhöht chancengleiche Teilhabe am Bildungsaufstieg, bietet vielfältige Engagementmöglichkeiten, erschließt ungenutzte Bildungspotenziale bei Schüler:innen und Studierenden und wirkt dem drohenden Fachkräftemangel entgegen. Praktisch bedeutet das, dass wir zum Beispiel Schulvorträge halten, auf Messen präsent sind, 1:1Mentoring anbieten und jeden 1. Monat im Monat um 20 Uhr ein offenes Treffen im nt-Cafe anbieten. Bundesweit engagieren sich über 6.000 Ehrenamtliche in 80 lokalen
ArbeiterKind.deGruppen. Auch die Ortsgruppe in Halle (Saale) bietet eine leicht zugängliche Unterstützung. Über halle@arbeiterkind.de, in den sozialen Netzwerken und bei den regelmäßigen Stammtischtreffen lassen sich offene Fragen zu Studium und Studienfinanzierung oftmals schnell klären. Wenn du dich in der Ortsgruppe engagieren möchtest, melde dich gerne über unsere Kanäle. Jede Unterstützung wird gebraucht, zumal der Austausch von Erfahrungen als Nichtakademikerkind an der Hochschule wertvoll und kraftgebend ist.“
