Neue Sommerlektüre: „Leiser Tod in Lissabon“
Mit Beginn der vorlesungsfreien Zeit muss vielleicht nicht immer die Fachlektüre im Fokus stehen. Warum am Strand, in den Bergen oder daheim auf dem Balkon nicht mal etwas komplett anderes lesen – und gleichwohl den Kontakt zu politischen Fragen nicht vernachlässigen? Um ein solches Buch handelt es sich bei dem Krimi „Leiser Tod in Lissabon“ von Catrin George Ponciano.
Worum geht es? Der Hitzesommer hat Portugals Hauptstadt Lissabon fest im Griff, als ein Toter in der Kirche São Miguel gefunden wird. Inspetora-Chefe Dora Monteiro erkennt auf den ersten Blick, dass der Mord nicht zufällig genau an dieser Stelle geschah. Ein vergilbtes Foto führt sie auf die Fährte eines mächtigen, aber seit Jahrzehnten tot geglaubten Mannes. Ist er der Mörder? Je weiter Dora ermittelt, desto tiefer gerät sie in ein gefährliches Netz aus alten Seilschaften, die weit in die Geschichte Lissabons zurückreichen. Beim politischen Hintergrund dieser Geschichte reicht die Handlung zurück zur Nelkenrevolution im Jahre 1974 und zum gescheiterten Militärputsch im Jahr darauf – die Nachwirkungen sind im Buch bis in die Gegenwart zu spüren. Auch die aktuellen politischen Akteure und nicht zuletzt die Rolle der Europäischen Union für die Politik Portugals stehen im Fokus. Hinzu kommt, dass die Autorin viel Lokalkolorit rund um die Lissabonner Altstadt präsentiert, aber auch die Spezialitäten der portugiesischen Küche (sowie die portugiesischen Weine) nicht zu kurz kommen. Kurzum: ein spannendes und zugleich unterhaltsames Buch, das Lust auf mehr macht – vielleicht sogar auf einen zukünftigen Urlaub in der portugiesischen Hauptstadt.:)
