TV-Tipp: Rechtsextremismus in den USA
Am heutigen Dienstag Abend (2. Januar 2024, 22:10 Uhr) zeigt der Fernsehsender ARTE eine Dokumentation über den wachsenden Rechtsextremismus in den USA – rechtzeitig vor dem 6. Januar, an dem sich der Sturm auf das Kapitol zum dritten Mal jährt. Der Filmemacher Charlie Sadoff und sein Koautor Kenneth Harbaugh dienten früher in der US-Armee und berücksichtigen in ihrer Dokumentation insbesondere die Rolle von Veteranen in den Ereignissen des 6. Januars. Ex-Angehörige des US-Militärs oder der Polizei machten damals etwa 15 Prozent der Demonstranten aus. Zugleich rekapituliert der Film das Aufkommen paramilitärischer Organisationen wie die „Three Percenters“, die „Proud Boys“ und die „Oath Keepers“. Bereits jetzt ist der Film in der ARTE-Mediathek zu sehen.
