Eine preisgekrönte Dokumentation des ZDF namens „Zwischen den Stühlen“ begleitet den Weg dreier Referendare auf ihrem Weg in den Schuldienst. Auf der Webseite des ZDF heißt es über diesen Film: „Sie lehren, während sie selbst noch lernen. Sie vergeben Noten, während sie ihrerseits benotet werden.
