Die Finalisten stehen fest: Trumps „Supreme Court Show“
Heute abend gegen 21 Uhr Ortszeit (also drei Uhr morgens unserer Zeit) wird US-Präsident Donald Trump der Öffentlichkeit bekanntgeben, welche Kandidatin oder welchen Kandidat er in der Nachfolge des zurückgetretenen Richters Anthony Kennedy an den Supreme Court in Washington berufen wird. Das Politikportal Politico.com bezeichnet die Entscheidung bereits als „Super Bowl of Politics“, denn mit seiner Entscheidung hat Trump die Möglichkeit, die Ausrichtung des Supreme Courts auf lange Zeit zu prägen, insbesondere da mit Kennedy ein Richter der politischen Mitte geht und voraussichtlich ein/e deutlich konservativerere/r Kandidat/in berufen weden dürfte (mehr dazu hier).
