Lektüren: 1989 und die Folgen
In den Lehrveranstaltungen des Lehrbereichs Systemanalyse und Vergleichende Politikwissenschaft an der Martin-Luther-Universität gibt es regelmäßig Lehrveranstaltungen in Basis- wie Aufbaumodul zum Thema Systemtransformation. Dabei spielen stets auch die Ereignisse und Entwicklungen des Jahres 1989 eine zentrale Rolle. Dieses war sicherlich eines der einschneidensten Jahre des 20. Jahrhunderts. 30 Jahre später hat der GEO-Verlag im Rahmen seiner Zeitschriftenreihe „GEO Epoche“ ein umfangreiches Heft zu diesem Jahr herausgebracht, das nicht nur auf die Ereignisse dieses Jahres (insbesondere in Deutschland) eingeht, sondern auch und vor allem nach den Konsequenzen dieses Jahres fragt. Damit kommen Ereignisse in den Blick wie der Moskauer Putsch von 1991, der Krieg im früheren Jugoslawien, die Karriere des Wlidimir Putin, die Osterweiterung der Europäischen Union in den Jahren 2004 und 2007 sowie die Ereignisse auf dem Maidan in der ukrainischen Hauptstadt Kiew im Jahre 2014. Natürlich handelt es sich bei diesem Heft um kein politikwissenschaftliches Werk, aber es eignet sich auf vorzügliche Weise, die erwähnten Ereignisse durch ausführliche Texte und eine großartige Bildredaktion lebendig werden zu lassen. Daher sei dieses Heft ohne Einschränkung zur Lektüre nachhaltig empfohlen! Erhältlich ist das Heft in jedem besseren Zeitschriftenladen oder in jeder Bahnhofsbuchhandlung.
