Lektüre: „Unter Druck“ von Jana Simon
Es gibt diese Bücher, in denen man zunächst nur etwas blättern möchte – und dann liest man das Buch an zwei Abenden komplett aus. Ein solches Buch ist „Unter Druck“ der Journalistin Jana Simon, das vor wenigen Tagen erschienen ist. Das Buch beginnt mit diesen Sätzen: „In der Biographie jedes Einzelnen spiegelt sich die Welt. Und in jeder Biographie spiegelt sich die Wirklichkeit eines Landes.“ Und gemäß dieser Maxime schildert Simon die Entwicklung der letzten Jahre in Deutschland – stichwortartig seien Flüchtlingskrise, Klimawandel, NSU-Terror, Pflegenotstand, Abstiegsangst genannt – anhand von sechs Biographien: des Bankers und Euroretters Jörg Asmussen, der Krankenschwester Bozena Block, des Ingenieurs Jörn Reichenbach (und seiner Frau), des Polizisten Thomas Matcak, der Influencerin Lisa Banholzer und des AfD-Politikers Alexander Gauland. Zusammen ergeben die Schilderungen dieser Biographien aus den Jahren 2013 bis 2019 „Nahaufnahmen einer verunsicherten Nation“. Das Buch der preisgekrönten Simon (u. a. Theodor-Wolff-Preis, Axel-Springer-Preis und Deutscher Reporterpreis) bezeichnete Harry Nutt in der Frankfurter Rundschau als „Gesellschaftsbild mit sorgsam ausgearbeiteten Farbsetzungen und Kontrasten, das weit über die bloße Momentaufnahme einer Zeitungsreportage hinausgeht“. Der Titel des Buches weist darauf hin, dass einige der Protagonisten durchaus Druck ausüben, dass die meisten von ihnen aber Druck von außen ausgesetzt sind und versuchen (müssen), damit irgendwie klarzukommen. Fazit: unbedingt lesenswert!
