„Die Unmutigen, die Mutigen“: Lesung an der MLU mit Juliane Stückrad
Die Jenaer Ethnologin Juliane Stückrad hat sich in ihrem kürzlich erschienenen Buch „Die Unmutigen, die Mutigen“ mit dem (alltäglichen) Leben in Ostdeutschland befasst. Im neuen Jahr wird sie an der Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg (MLU) aus ihrem Werk lesen.
Auf der Seite der Veranstaltung heißt es: „Auf einer Reise durch Peru wird der jungen Ethnologin Juliane Stückrad plötzlich klar, dass sie nicht die Rituale indigener Gesellschaften erforschen will. Ihr wahres Interesse gilt ihrer ostdeutschen Heimat, dem Leben am Rand und nicht zuletzt der eigenen Herkunft. Als teilnehmende Beobachterin erforscht sie von nun an die Lebens- und Arbeitswelt und den Wandel in vielen strapazierten Regionen. Sie geht auf Demonstrationen, sitzt mit den Dorfbewohnern am Tresen, besucht Familienfeiern und Gemeindefeste. Sie studiert Grabsteine, Autoaufkleber und Plakate. Ihr Buch präsentiert ungehörte und überhörte Geschichten, die gleichermaßen vom Mut wie vom Unmut künden. Geschichten, die Zugang zur Vielfalt ostdeutscher Lebenswelten bieten und Heimat als Veränderung, Erinnerung und Selbstbehauptung beschreiben.“
Die Lesung findet statt am Freitag, den 13. Januar 2023 von 12 bis 14 Uhr im Institut für Anglistik und Amerikanistik in der Adam-Kuckhoff-Str. 35 (Steintor-Campus). Veranstaltet wird sie von Prof. Dr. Katrin Berndt (Lehrstuhl für Englische Literatur und Kultur). Aus organisatorischen Gründen wird um eine vorherige Anmeldung per E-Mail gebeten.
