Parlamente der Welt: der Bundesrat
In unseren Veranstaltungen (und hier im Blog!) steht immer wieder auch die Architektur von Parlamenten im Fokus. In der vergangenen Woche gab es für mich die Gelegenheit, den Bundesrat am Leipziger Platz in Berlin im Rahmen einer Führung zu besuchen. Im Jahre 1904 als Parlamentsgebäude, nämlich als Sitz des Preußischen Staatsrates (dessen zeitweiliger Präsident in den 1920er Jahren ein gewisser Konrad Adenauer war), eingeweiht, diente es nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg unter anderem als Sitz der Akademie der Wissenschaften der DDR. In den 1990er Jahren wurde das Gebäude saniert und für den Bundesrat umgestaltet (Hintergründe zum Gebäude finden sich hier und hier). Fun fact: direkt neben dem heutigen Buindesratsgebäude entsteht derzeit ein Anbau, um der Platzprobleme der Zweiten Kammer Herr zu werden. Herzstück des Anbaus wird ein Besucherzentrum sein, das es in dieser Form im Bundesrat bislang nicht gibt. Nachfolgend einige fotografische Impressionen der Führung durch das Gebäude.
