Wer ist Amy Coney Barrett?
Am gestrigen Samstag hat US-Präsident Donald Trump die Richterin Amy Coney Barrett als Nachfolgerin der jüngst verstorbenen Richterin Ruth Bader Ginsburg an den Supreme Court berufen (der Republikanisch dominierte Senat muss der Benennung noch zustimmen). Damit zementiert Trump die konservative Ausrichtung des Gerichts und zwar deutlich über seine eigene Amtszeit hinaus, unabhängig davon, ob dessen Amtszeit vier oder acht Jahre dauern wird, da Richterinnen und Richter am Supreme Court auf Lebenszeit berufen werden; und mit 48 Jahren dürfte Barrett als eine von neun Richtern bzw. Richterinnen das Gericht über mehrere Jahrzehnte mitprägen.
