Lektüretipp: „Zweimal Deutschland, eine Geschichte“ von Petra Weber
Zur Geschichte der Bundesrepublik, aber auch zur Geschichte der DDR gibt es in den unterschiedlichsten wissenschaftlichen Disziplinen eine Fülle an einschlägiger Literatur. Selten wurde eine integrierende Zusammenschau der Entwicklung in Ost und West versucht. Die Historikerin Petra Weber vom Münchener Institut für Zeitgeschichte hat genau dies versucht: in ihrem neuen Buch „Getrennt und doch vereint. Deutsch-deutsche Geschichte 1945-1989/90“ beschreibt sie die Entwicklung beider deutschen Staaten vom Ende des Zweiten Weltkriegs bis zur Wiedervereinigung. Eine ausführliche Rezension von Christoph Kleßmann, der selbst viele Bücher und Artikel zu diesem Thema beigesteuert hat und das Buch als „ein fulminantes Großwerk“ bezeichnet, fand sich vor einiger Zeit in der Süddeutschen Zeitung.
